TGC New Jersey, LLC and Capitol Extracts NJ, LLC will each seek approval in the township’s industrial area, where certain weed businesses are allowed to operate. TGC New Jersey hopes to operate at 2703 River Rd., while Capitol Extracts would go on 2200 Garry Rd.
Capitol Extracts develops cannabis vapes that are currently available at a handful of Ohio businesses, according to its website.
Christopher Lacy, who founded The TGC Group, illegally sold weed while growing up in the Chicago area. He did multiple stints behind bars — once for having 0.8 grams of a controlled substance and another for growing cannabis, he told Cannabis Industry Journal.
Once out of prison, Lacy worked as a truck driver to support his family. When Illinois legalized cannabis, he tried to get into the recently legal industry but faced obstacles along the way. However, he successfully obtained licensure to operate in New Jersey.
In 2021, Cinnaminson established the Cannabis Establishment Overlay Zone — a segment of the light commercial/industrial area where approved cannabis businesses can operate.
The Planning Board meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. View the agenda.
