NORTHRIDGE, CA — Authorities on Monday identified a 26-year-old man who died when he inexplicably drove into a wall in a residential Northridge neighborhood Friday.
Los Angeles resident Erick Robles died in the solo-vehicle crash in the 17800 block of Parthenia Street shortly after 8 p.m. Friday, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department and Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner.
The crash happened just after 8 p.m. Friday along a residential stretch of Parthenia Street, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Nicholas Prange. Firefighters and Urban Search and Rescue specialists worked to free the driver, but they were unable to save the driver.
“One vehicle collided with a wall, causing the driver to be trapped,” Prange said. “As crews attempted to extricate the patient, sadly, the patient was found to be deceased among the wreckage.”
It wasn’t clear what caused the crash or whether speed was a factor.
The cause of the fatal wreck remains under investigation.
