Cody Rhodes has made it perfectly clear that his match against Jay Lethal at Final Battle this month will be his final match in Ring of Honor. Since then, Hangman Page and The Young Bucks are also said to be on their way out of the promotion. The four men are now also being linked to a possible new promotion called All Elite Wrestling, which may be launching as early as January 2019. ROH COO Joe Koff was asked about The Elite’s ROH status for 2019 during an interview with Wrestling Inc., and interestingly, he said that he does not see the group staying with ROH for much longer. This certainly seems to provide even more evidence that The Elite will be leaving ROH to launch their own promotion very soon.
“I don’t think so, and I don’t think that’s new news either. They
definitely have something in mind… and I’m very thankful for Cody and
The Young Bucks and Page and their contributions to ROH. They were part
of our great year. They’ll always be a part of the ROH family and I’m
always excited when people choose to take a different direction or go in
a different direction because it’s exciting for them as they embark on
the next chapter of their lives.” said Koff.
WWE Superstar Kane has been working for the company for over two decades. Kane’s appearances on WWE programming have become a bit more selective over the years, especially ever since he was elected the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee earlier this year. Kane has not been seen on WWE television since he and The Undertaker lost to DX at Crown Jewel last month. However, The Knoxville News Sentinel now claims that Kane is set to attend WWE’s upcoming live event in Tennessee on January 12th. Kane will be picking up a donation from the company while he is there. There is no word on whether or not Kane will be featured on the show in any capacity, but it does seem more likely than not at this point.
It’s been a while since fans have seen Sin Cara make an appearance on WWE programming. The masked Luchador did have a brief feud with SmackDown newcomer Andrade “Cien” Almas earlier this year. He has been out of action completely ever since he underwent surgery on his knee back in August, but Sin Cara now says that he is recovering from the surgeries and should now be returning to the ring shortly. During an appearance on the Peluche En El Estuche YouTube channel, Sin Cara confirmed that he has resumed training and is undergoing physical therapy at the moment. If all goes right without any interruptions, Sin Cara believes that he should be able to return to WWE by January 2019.
