During Monday Night RAW at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, NC, Acting RAW General Manager Baron Corbin told Bobby Lashley that he would be replacing John Cena in the World Cup match set for the Nov. 2 Crown Jewel show in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Cena refused to work the show due to the public relations nightmare WWE is encountering with the Saudi government’s alleged conspiracy to murder journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Lashley is reportedly working through a shoulder injury, which began rumors that he might not be replacing Cena. However, Corbin made if official. Lashley joins the field with Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton, Rey Mysterio, The Miz, Kurt Angle, Seth Rollins and Dolph Ziggler.
