Mexican wrestling legend Hijo del Perro Aguayo (Pedro Aguayo Ramirez), who died tragically after an accident in a match this weekend, passed away due to trauma to the neck and a cervical fracture, according to the state prosecutor’s office. An investigation into possible manslaughter has been opened by the same office.
Juan Carlos Pelayo, the president of the Tijuana Boxing and Wrestling Commission, addressed the medical treatment at a press conference on Saturday, stating, “the reaction for medical treatment was quick, in my opinion.”
Pelayo also explained that the reason the physician wasn’t at ringside was because he was backstage treating an injured wrestler.
