— Kurt Angle is scheduled to wrestle Abyss at the Turning Point pay-per-view on November 9. Even though television built around Angle vs. Jeff Jarrett, they don’t want to come back right away to another match between the two.
— The first two TNA pay-per-view dates of 2009 take place on January 11 and February 8. Sites have yet to be determined for either show. TNA has been thinking about holding the January show in San Antonio, otherwise it will Orlando. The site of the February show is also uncertain. For early 2009 pay-per-view dates, they are looking at Ohio and the Northeast.
— The Miami Herald has an article on Matt Morgan, who explained the differences between TNA and WWE. Morgan said one of the key differences between the two companies is that WWE told him what his gimmick would be where, whereas TNA listens to his input based on his perceived strengths and weaknesses. Morgan also believes the slow build for his TNA character helped him, as opposed to just throwing him on TV against the big stars of TNA, like in the case of Andrew “Test” Martin last year. “TNA is letting me speak. Not every giant has to be some stoic goof,” Morgan said. “They could have brought me in like they did Test and said, ‘Here is a former WWE talent. We’re going to introduce him against Abyss next week,’ the first time I came here. They didn’t do that. They built me nice and slow, and they put their own brand on me. It meant more. From that, I evolved into the Matt Morgan I am now.” (TNA planners go forward with master blueprint)
