A new report has surfaced online regarding WWE’s plans for Daniel Bryan and the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 35 in April.
Whilst many fans would like to see Kofi Kingston get the title shot at WrestleMania, WWE is reportedly not looking to do that, which is why The New Day member is getting his opportunity at WWE Fastlane.
Dave Meltzer had reported earlier in the week that WW is planning on having Bryan defend the title against a returning wrestler and according to Bleacher Report’s Jeremy Botter, the planned opponent is none other than Kevin Owens.
This new report falls in line with what Meltzer has already stated, and WWE has been running video packages from Owens where he has claimed he will be back soon, with KO working as a babyface in the videos.
The last time KO was on WWE he was a member of the WWE Raw brand, but he has stated that he was unsure which brand he would be returning to, which is how WWE could put him on SmackDown Live as a babyface to challenge the Planets Champion.
Unless plans change, Daniel Bryan’s opponent for WrestleMania is Kevin Owens.
