World Wonder Ring Stardom, the premiere women’s wrestling promotion in Japan, will be making a rare trip to the United States in 2019. An official announcement was made earlier today that Stardom will be running an event in New York during WrestleMania weekend, invading the NYC Arena in Queens on Friday, April 5th.
The show, dubbed Stardom American Dream 2019 kicks off at 4PM ET but it is worth noting that it may be difficult for those planning to attend NXT Takeover to arrive at the Barclays Center on time, as doors open at 6:15PM. The Chicago-based SHIMMER promotion will also be running an event that same day at 11AM.
For those unfamiliar with Stardom, it is the same promotion that major names like Kairi Sane and Io Shirai called home for many years before making their way to WWE. Several WWE, NXT and Mae Young Classic stars have also appeared for the Japanese promotion including Toni Storm, Shayna Baszler, Mercedes Martinez, Ruby Riott, Meiko Satomura, Nikki Cross and Mia Yim.
Tickets go on-sale at midnight tonight (12:00AM ET on Christmas Day) and are expected to sell out extremely quickly.
