As we noted earlier this week, via The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Brock Lesnar’s next WWE Universal Title defense is expected to come at WWE SummerSlam in August, and The Beast is likely to headline the PPV.
According to Cageside Seats, one of the rumored frontrunners to be challenging Lesnar for the title at the big event this summer is not The Big Dog Roman Reigns, but instead his Sheild brethren and current WWE Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins.

Rollins has been on a roll lately with his Intercontinental Title defenses highlighting episodes of Raw, and while it has not yet been confirmed that Rollins will face Lesnar at SummerSlam, with Roman Reigns’ push being scaled back somewhat following his encounters with Lesnar, it’s possible WWE might be going in a different direction come SummerSlam. As of this writing, WWE Money in the Bank will feature Roman Reigns vs Jinder Mahal and Seth Rollins and Elias, and there is no word on who the two Shield members might be facing at Extreme Rules in July.

On a related note, if Brock Lesnar plans to return to UFC before the end of the year, he has until June 30th at the very latest to re-enter the USADA testing pool, as he must test clean for a full six months before being allowed to compete in the octagon again.
