London-based menswear designer Nasir Mazhar is teaming up with Topman on
a 10-piece collection launching in September.
The collection will feature his streetwear aesthetic and will include
eye-catching powder blue and baby pink cotton towelling co-ord sets with
embroidery detailing, nylon tracksuit featuring custom hand-printed
artwork, a sweatshirt embroidered with his logo, as well as tops, shorts
and jogging bottoms.
“My vision for the brand has always been that everyone should be able to
have my pieces in their wardrobe,” said Mazhar. “Working with Topman has
made it possible for me to bring my aesthetic to customers in an exciting
and more accessible way. With this in mind, amazing pieces you just want to
put on there and then were at the forefront of my mind while designing.”
Mazhar added: “I was also thinking about forward thinking teens, an
energy that’s optimistic and energised but also boisterous. The capsule has
something for playing sport, something for the rave, something for the pool
– a diverse and exciting wardrobe.”
Prices range from 25 pounds for a top to 80 pounds for trousers. The
collaboration will launch online at Topman.com on September 6, and in
selected Topman stores from September 8.
Topman creative director Gordon Richardson, added: “Nasir has been
someone we have admired for a long time and has developed through both
Topman sponsored initiatives Man and NewGen Men.
“We have always wanted to work with him but had been waiting for the
right moment. We believe this is the moment, and we absolutely love what he
has come up with. I can’t wait to see people actually wearing the
collection.”
Topman has previously collaborated with a number of London-based
designers on exclusive collections including Agi & Sam, Astrid Andersen and
J.W.Anderson.
