Alvaro Morata will join Atletico Madrid on a permanent deal from Chelsea when his loan expires, the Premier League club have confirmed.
talkSPORT understands the two clubs have agreed a £58million fee for the 26-year-old to end his unhappy spell at Stamford Bridge.
The Spain striker is currently on loan in the Spanish capital until June 2020 and will join permanently next summer.
After arriving at Chelsea from Real Madrid in 2017 for a fee of around £60million, the Spaniard initially lit up the Premier League.
But his form tailed off and he was sidelined by Antonio Conte and then Sarri.
He joined Atletico on loan in January and after making his debut in February, Morata featured a total of 16 times and scored six goals, revealing how desperate he was to return to his native country.
How much will Eden Hazard earn when he signs with Real Madrid?
Former teammate Eden Hazard has also swapped west London for Madrid, but instead made a £130m move to rivals Real.
New Blues manager Frank Lampard has promised to use the club’s academy graduates, with Tammy Abraham excelling on loan at Aston Villa last season.
A two-window transfer ban imposed by FIFA means the 21-year-old is likely to get a chance to lead the line under Lampard.
