Jose Mourinho will reject a ‘huge’ offer from Chinese Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande because of family reasons.
Despite the lucrative deal on the table, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss will not return to football management in the Far East.
Mourinho was sacked by Manchester United in December after leading the Red Devils to their worst Premier League start in history.
Despite this, talkSPORT exclusively revealed on Friday Guangzhou had made a significant offer for the ‘Special One’ to take charge.
Pictures emerged of Mourinho meeting Hui Jiayin – the most influential figure in Chinese football – to discuss a sensational return to management.
Mr Hui is the chairman of Evergrande Group, which finances Super League side Guangzhou Evergrande, and is committed to bringing the best names in football to the Far East.
The billionaire real estate developer, who is said to have a strong ambition to inspire China to reach the World Cup and perform with honour, had positive discussions with the former Inter Milan boss, with the opportunity to manage Evergrande and the national team both on the table.
But The Guardian claim Mourinho will reject this offer because he does not want to uproot his family and relocate to China.
Mourinho is also not interested in international management, preferring a return to the club game when the right opportunity arises.
In his time away from the managerial merry-go-round, the 56-year-old has worked extensively as a pundit for beIN SPORTS, with his insight delighting fans.
