Belstaff has launched its capsule collection for Autumn/Winter 2016,
designed by none other than its brand ambassador, actress Liv Tyler.
The 12 piece collection hit Belstaff stores on Tuesday, and features
statement outerwear pieces such as a military cape, parkas jackets as well
as a peacoat and a fine-leather jacket. The collection, which was developed
together with Belstaff’s creative director, Delphine Ninous, takes its
inspiration from the heritage brand’s archives as well as Tyler own
personal style.
“I wanted to express strength through the outerwear and leather pieces
alongside a more feminine sensual side through the softer materials like
silk, and via the more fitted silhouettes of my styles,” said Tyler on the
collection in a statement. The resulting collection features looks which
are reminiscent of female pilot Amelia Earhart in the 1920s, who was one of
the first women Belstaff ever dressed.
In honour of the capsule collection, Belstaff and Tyler have created a
short film entitles Falling UP, which sees the actress retrace
the footsteps of Earhart. “We wanted to tell the story of who the
Belstaff woman really is: free-spirited, independent, brave… She commands
real respect,” added Tyler. The capsule collection is currently available
online and in Belstaff stores, with prices ranging from 295 pounds
for slim fit trousers to 1,595 pounds for the Lexie Lt Blouson.
