Jennifer Lopez has gained the status of a celebrity through her work as a
musician and actress over the years. Recently, the star has turned her
creative talents to designer fashion by partnering with Giuseppe Zanotti.
Trying her hand at high-end fashion for the first time, Lopez teamed up
with Zanotti for a full-on capsule shoe collection.
Zanotti brought on Lopez for the collection in order to help with
designing. The collection will include footwear and accessories and will be
called “Giuseppe for Jennifer Lopez.” According to brand’s website, the
collection is scheduled to launch in January and will be available at
select retailers through the U.S. Some confirmed retailers include Neiman
Marcus, Nordstrom, Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue. Also, the
collection will be available through Giuseppe Zanotti Design stores and
through its online website. Internationally, the shoes will be available at
various retailers, although specific businesses are yet to be named.
The collection itself will include women’s shoes such as heels, booties,
sneakers, sandals, and more. Zanotti chose Lopez due to their work together
previously and her innate sense of style. “I’ve always been inspired by
Jennifer and love the way she looks in my shoes,” said Zanotti on the
brand’s official website. “It was a natural evolution to collaborate
together,” he said. The shoes will include crystal embellishments, strappy
sandals, open-toed booties, and snakeskin print leather materials and will
emphasize a fresh style created by the duo. The color palette will include
cool grays, warm beiges, and dreamy pastel colors. There will also be two
different leather handbags available with the collection. “The
collection, like Jennifer, is sensual, sophisticated, modern but also
playful with a bit of edge,” he said. On Giuseppe Zanotti’s official

Although this is Lopez’s first high-end venture, she has dabbled in working
in fashion before. In 2001, she founded her eponymous clothing brand JLO by
Jennifer Lopez. The lifestyle brand was pretty successful in the U.S. and
included fashion wear, swimwear, fragrances, eyewear, jewelry, handbags and
more. A year after Lopez’s line launched, the brand had sold over 175
million dollars worth of product according to People Magazine. After having
success in her own fashion line, moving on to a higher end brand seems to
be a fitting next step for Lopez in the industry. “The collection Giuseppe
and I have created is everything you would expect from the both of us-bad
ass high heels with shapes that are fierce [and] have some sparkle!” Lopez
stated on the brand’s website.
Partnering with Zanotti was a succinct way for Lopez to partner with a
high-end brand. The Italian luxury shoe designer has created a high
standard of shoewear through his designs. The brand has created its own
signature style with design process centers that include designers who
sketch by hand. Each shoe also has Zanotti’s distinctive signature
inscribed to ensure the highest quality of Zanotti’s designs. In addition
to innovativeness in his artistry, the shoes also include intricate
embedding and embroidery. Part of Zanotti’s designs include delicate and
artful beading to create the overall look of the shoe. Zanotti’s shoes
range from pumps, sneakers, sandals, bags, jewelry, accessories, and
ready-to-wear. The brand also includes a junior section for shoes that
consists of mostly sneakers.
