Harry Maguire will play no part in Leicester’s friendly against Atalanta having been left out Brendan Rodgers’ squad following Manchester United bidding for him.
As talkSPORT revealed on Thursday, the Red Devils have submitted an £80million take it or leave it bid for Maguire, which will be withdrawn on Monday if no response has been provided.
The bid is understood to still fall slightly short of Leicester’s valuation of Maguire, with The Telegraph claiming the Foxes don’t want to sell, and don’t need to sell, so have set his asking price at £90m.
The same report confirms Maguire’s absence from Friday’s friendly against Atalanta at the King Power Stadium, after the centre-back held talks with manager Brendan Rodgers.
It was agreed he would sit out the match as he is not in the right frame of mind amid the rumours of a switch to Old Trafford in the final week of the transfer window.
