August brings Premier League football back with a bang.
The top-flight’s best get going once again as Liverpool and Norwich kick off the 2019/20 campaign on Friday, August 9.
Manchester City pipped the Reds to the title last term by just one point, capping off a memorable year of action.
Now City, Liverpool and the rest are ready and raring to go again after enjoying their summer off.

But West Ham will be heading into the new term with some big-money recruits and fresh optimism for the campaign ahead.
Can they pull off a huge shock and stun City in their opening clash? Or will Pep Guardiola and co make a flying start to their title defence?

One of the biggest clashes of the first month will see last season’s Champions League runners-up head to the Etihad.
Spurs, with new club-record signing Tanguy Ndombele in tow, will be eager to show they mean business this term when they face the champions.
But City have good form against the north Londoners, winning each of their four league meetings, including a pair of 1-0 victories last year.
This match-up should provide a good indicator of both side’s title credentials.

Newly promoted side vs newly appointed manager, this match will be filled with storylines.
Norwich are back in the big time after romping through the Championship last term while Chelsea will head to Carrow Road still adjusting to life under Frank Lampard.
The Canaries could well surprise a few this season and then may fancy their chances against the Blues.
But Lampard will be looking to make his team tick against the league’s new boys and he did take four points off them with Derby last season.

A highlight of any season, there have been a staggering 35 goals in the last seven league meetings between these two, so there should be plenty of action in this early season blockbuster at Anfield.
