In the era of athleisure wear and office dress codes becoming less strict,
it has become a question of whether brands with traditional suiting options
have a chance at longevity in the men’s wear space. Despite the change in
men’s fashion from the “Mad Men” era, there is still no doubt that a man
loves a good suit. Case in point, Suit Supply’s presentation for New York
Fashion Week: Men’s.
This season, the brand’s collection was inspired by Bauhaus, the midcentury
German school of design known for their emphasis on practical, everyday
objects that inform and improve the way we live our lives. With an emphasis
on practicality, the collection was very minimalist, but very well
constructed.

The color palette was tonal with colors including off-white, grass, burnt
orange, and dark navy. This made for a very classic, yet very modern
aesthetic that any male consumer could find approachable. As for materials, the brand used copious amounts of linen as they made
staying cool in the summer, but staying in style one of the main focuses of
this collection. Their linens were blended with other more luxurious
materials like cashmere and silk to emphasize their position as an upscale
brand.Overall, the collection was simple, but elegant. The market for suiting
might have changed, but brands are evolving, and adapting for their
customer, and suiting is certainly here to stay.photo via Suit Supply PR
