This week's NWA Power featured both a TV title match and Pretty Empowered in action.
This was actually a pretty great episode, all things considered, as it set up things for June's Crockett Cup and for next week’s Power.
NWA Women’s TV Champion Kenzie Paige defeated Sierra to retain
For a four-minute match, this was very good. Paige remains very consistent in her matches, getting her second win in her Lucky Seven to secure a title shot against NWA Women's Champion Kamille. That’s a match I would actually pay to see.
Sierra offered a handshake, but Paige kicked her hand away. Sierra locked on a headlock, hit three shoulder tackles, and a running back elbow in the corner. Paige hit a clothesline off the ropes, but didn’t do much more afterward as Sierra hit a German suplex, double knees, and a short arm clothesline.
Instead of going for the cover, Sierra went for a death valley driver, but Paige gouged her eyes and hit a Kenzie Cutter for the win.
– EC3 was with May Valentine who nicely acknowledged BLK Jeez’s illness, wishing him the best. EC3 said he was praying for Jeeves, but I am going to assume the best about him misspeaking. EC3 talked about his upcoming match with Thrillbilly Silas at the Crockett Cup and pitched himself as his friend, mentor, and master.
– They aired a promo for the NWA Crockett Cup, featuring audio from Bob Caudle!
Kratos & Odinson defeated Cyon & Jordan Clearwater
Kratos and Odinson make for a fun team, and Kratos yet again is one of the best guys on these shows. I think they would benefit greatly from having him in main events over Tyrus.
Kratos and Odinson both partook in the purpose spray that Odinson has. Cyon missed a corner charge and Kratos took him back to the corner to tag out to Odinson. Clearwater tagged in and said he was going to show Cyon something. He got hit with a backbreaker, uppercut, and a neck breaker for two. Apparently, he wanted to show him how to get beat up.
Odinson picked up Kratos and F5’d Kratos onto Clearwater, crushing him. Cyon broke up the pin. Kratos got the biggest pop from this Chicago taping when he chopped the heck out of Clearwater and threw him across the ring. Clearwater raked the eyes of Odinson knocked him off the middle turnbuckle.
Cyon and Clearwater got some heat on Odinson for the next few minutes, but Odinson managed to hit a corkscrew Asgardian uppercut to tag out to Kratos. Clearwater and Cyon tried to double back suplex Kratos, but he flipped backwards and landed on his feet before hitting a huge lariat on Cyon. He missed a splash, but Cyon got nailed with a pounce from Odinson for the pin and win.
– Thom Latimer and Rhett Titus were backstage, discussing how they were entering the Crockett Cup as a tag team.
Alex Taylor defeated Koa Laxamana and Fodder (w/ Angelina Love) in a three-way
They didn’t put the match graphics on the screen for this one, but Laxamana was debuting and the Chicago crowd really liked him. A standard opening saw all three guys get some brief offense before Fodder started biting Taylor. Laxamana hit a spear on both men, and Taylor hit a shotgun dropkick on Laxamana. Fodder tried to use the kendo stick that Love passed him, but the referee took it away. Taylor hit a Cradle Shock on Laxamana soon thereafter for the win.
– Mims & Dak Draper talked about facing La Rebelion for the NWA Tag Team titles next week on NWA Power. Mims cut the promo of his life about how he has failed to win the NWA TV championship, and how he and Draper lost at NWA 312, but they were not going to let the chance slip away again. Draper continued this good promo, saying that they were more determined than ever to win.
They need to win the titles after that promo. I’m afraid they won’t, but my goodness, Mims was on fire. This was excellent.
Pretty Empowered (Ella Envy & Roxy) defeated La Rosa Negra & Labrava Escobar

This was a decent tag match to close the show. Envy has improved tremendously since she started in the NWA. Whatever it is with the women on the NWA shows, it seems that they get over and work harder than the many in the male main event scene. Even if they’re inexperienced, they work very hard which makes for better matches and angles.
Escobar hit a dropkick to the knee of Envy, but Envy fired back with a forearm and tagged out to Roxy, who got immediately hit with a clothesline by Escobar. Negra hit a spinning spinebuster on Roxy, but Envy ran in and immediately stopped any pin. Negra hit a forearm on Envy and a flying elbow on Roxy, taking out both members before tagging out to Escobar.
Negra hit a bridging Samoan drop on Envy for a nearfall before locking on a Koji Clutch that Roxy had to break up. Envy pulled Negra off the middle rope and Escobar tagged in. Pretty Empowered then hit a combination wheelbarrow with a facebuster for the pin and win to close the show.
