It seems one of the hottest collaborations of the year is partnership with Disney, everyone
went crazy when the partnership was announced, who wouldn’t want cute floral prints teamed with Disney characters,
well we are now able to give you a sneak peek at the new collection.
There will be two collaborations in the series, the first will pay
tribute to one of the world’s most famous bears, Winnie-the-Pooh, to
coincide with his 90th anniversary, the second will be with Mickey and
Minnie Mouse.
The limited edition Winnie-the-Pooh collection launches on September 26
and includes womenswear, kids clothing, bags, accessories, and home, which
feature the British bear and his friends woven into the fabric of two of
Cath Kidston’s signature designs, the Button Spot and Bramley Sprig, and A
Day in the Hundred Acre Wood.
The Button Spot print is a classic Cath Kidston fabric and for the
collaboration Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore
have been fused into the original design to create the bespoke Balloon
Spot. Winnie-the-Pooh’s iconic balloon and red t-shirt provide bright pops
of colour against the soft cornflower blue backdrop of this sketched
design. This fabric features across two fashion pieces, the Raglan Sleeve
Dress and Slub Skirt plus an array of bags and accessories including the
Foldaway Overnight Bag and classic Book Bag.
The Balloon Spot has also been used to brighten up the Winnie-the-Pooh x
Cath Kids collection, with the print appearing on baby body suits, a pram
blanket and rattle, as well as number of home pieces including a food tray,
beaker and nursery set. For newborns the print has been set against a fresh
shade of yellow, to appeal to both boy and girl newborns.
While the A Day in the Hundred Acre Wood print sees Winnie-the-Pooh and
friends having fun picking flowers, playing around with balloons and
enjoying some honey. This novelty print has been used across nightwear for
both adults and kids, as well as accessories and home.
The limited edition Winnie-the-Pooh x Cath Kidston debut collection will
be sold exclusively in selected Cath Kidston stores and online at
cathkidston.com from September 26, only whilst stocks last.
Cath Kidston, marketing director, Sue Chidler, said: “We’ve thoroughly
enjoyed marrying the storytelling elements of classic Disney characters
with our signature prints. Winnie-the-Pooh is a perfect start for the
collaboration, embodying the cheerfulness of the Cath Kidston brand.
“The fusion of Disney’s Winnie-the-Pooh characters with our classic
designs makes for an exciting, creative collection filled with personality
that we believe our customers will love to collect.”
The Winnie-the-Pooh collaboration will be followed by a Mickey and
Minnie Mouse collection that will hit stores in December in time for
Christmas.
