Hiroshi Fujiwara’s collection for Louis Vuitton is anticipated to be a
sellout. Thousands of shoppers lined up outside the Isetan Men’s store on
Tuesday night and Wednesday morning to get their hands on the special
capsule collection he designed for Louis Vuitton.
Fujiwara is known to many as “the godfather of Harajuku fashion,” in
addition to being an accomplished hip-hop DJ.
For the collection, Fujiwara collaborated with Louis Vuitton men’s artistic
director Kim Jones on a range of ready-to-wear items including shoes,
accessories, and four limited-edition versions of the brand’s Monogram
Eclipse bags. The color palette is a minimalist black and white, and the
items carry the logo of Fujiwara’s own label, Fragment Designs, along with
the Louis Vuitton logo.
Price points for the collection range from 1742 dollars to 2676 dollars.
All the merchandise is sold exclusively at the pop-up store Isetan, which
will be open through July 19.

PDTOn Tuesday night at 8 p.m., fans of Fujiwara and Louis Vuitton began lining
up, and with two hours to opening time the line wrapped around the block.
The first 400 people in line were able to draw tickets which dictated when
they would be able to enter the store. Those who weren’t able to get in the
first day were anticipated to have waited over night to get in the second
day. The limited edition items are expected to sell out within three days
of the pop-up’s opening. Items from Louis Vuitton’s fall men’s collection
are also available in the store.“I’ve known Hiroshi since I was probably about 19. I used to work for
someone in the U.K. that was one of the people that imported his brands.
And I’ve just been a huge fan of his ever since I was that young,” Jones
said to WWD. “He’s really popular, not only in Japan but everywhere — he
has the Midas touch, and I just thought it would be really cool to do
something with him because he’s been one of my heroes since I was a kid and
one of the people that inspired me to be a designer.”
