FAIRFIELD, CT — Looking for a little pampering?
Wine N Cheese Day Spa, a wellness destination in downtown Fairfield, recently opened, offering manicures, pedicures, facials, massage therapy and other indulgences for its clients.
And as its name suggests, you can enjoy those extravagances while having a drink or noshing on charcuterie boards with artisan cheeses and other light, cold cuisine.
The spa is owned by Michael and Jacinth Dixon, a Stratford couple who have a background in hospitality. They wanted to create a unique place where women and men can enjoy a little TLC.
“My wife had a sub-par experience at a spa in New York, and that led us to start thinking about how to create a better, more relaxing destination for people,” Michael told Patch during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday.
They chose Fairfield because its ability to balance being a large community with a small town feel.
“It’s a great town that operates like a city,” Michael said. “Not only have the people been great, everyone has been wonderful, the Zoning Department, Building Department, Economic Development office, Chamber of Commerce. Everyone’s been amazing.”
Added Jacinth, “The town has welcomed us like family.”
Thursday’s event brought out town officials and First Selectman Bill Gerber, who thanked the Dixon’s for choosing Fairfield.
“Now I know what to get my wife for her birthday, a gift card for Wine N Cheese Day Spa,” he said.

In addition to the various services, the spa also offers monthly memberships, and can be booked for special events, such as date nights, bachelorette parties and other gatherings.
“We want to be a destination for great experiences,” Jacinth said.
Wine N Cheese Day Spa, at 1330 Post Road in Fairfield, is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
