Dani Ceballos has already caused quite the stir among Arsenal fans since his arrival from Real Madrid on a season-long loan.
And during the Gunners’ thrilling 2-2 draw against north London rivals Tottenham on Sunday he displayed exactly why that is the case – initially from the substitute’s bench.
Having started Premier League life brightly, Ceballos would have been disappointed to have been benched for such an important fixture, but that did not deter the 23-year-old from expressing his jubilation on the touchline when Alexandre Lacazette notched a superb first-half goal for the hosts.
It was a much-needed lifeline for Unai Emery’s side heading into the interval, having fallen behind to goals from Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane.
Ceballos then entered the fray as a second-half substitute after 63 minutes with Emery’s men chasing an equaliser.
And the Spaniard yet again impressed in his cameo display at the Emirates, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s goal securing them a deserved point.
Ceballos has certainly bought into the Arsenal culture since his arrival in London, living and breathing every moment of a frenetic 45 minutes, footage which is bound to have gone down well with his manager.
Arsenal face a trip to Watford on September 15 following the completion of the international break, while Tottenham entertain Crystal Palace a day earlier.
