Jurgen Klopp’s men will have momentum on their side when they face Cardiff at Anfield on Saturday, as they look to climb above Man City in the table
Liverpool will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the Premier League on Saturday when they host Cardiff City at Anfield, fresh off the back of a 4-0 victory over Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League.
Cardiff registered their first win of the season with a 4-2 defeat of Fulham in their most recent top-flight outing, ending a miserable run of form that included five straight losses.
Mohamed Salah managed to end his scoring ‘drought’ with his goals against Huddersfield and Red Star, with fellow forwards Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane also getting off the mark midweek.

Liverpool ended a four-game winless run with victories over Huddersfield and Red Star Belgrade, with Egypt international Salah marking a half a century of goals scored for the Anfield side against the Serbian team on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old has struggled to hit the heights of last season’s scoring exploits but has since seemed to return to form, having scored three goals in his previous two fixtures for Liverpool, and he will be on the goal trail again against defensively-fragile Cardiff.
Klopp waved away queries over Salah’s muted celebrations against Red Star, stating that the forward was merely tired of constant talk about his form.
“He is completely fine,” the German told reporters . “Really. If he is not celebrating, I don’t know if he is maybe a bit annoyed about getting asked about it [his scoring record].
“We didn’t speak about it, to be honest. You ask him all the time and then I go to him and say, ‘How do you feel because you haven’t scored as often?’ – I am not crazy! It is all good.”
Liverpool will be looking to climb above Manchester City in the table, if only temporarily, by beating Cardiff, with Pep Guardiola’s side not in action until Sunday, when they face Southampton.
While the Reds look to battle for top spot, Cardiff will be eager to lift themselves further away from the relegation zone, with Warnock’s men currently in 17th place in the table.
