Raheem Sterling has joked he is cursed after VAR disallowed another one of his goals in Manchester City’s 2-1 win against Chelsea.
The reigning champions came from behind to keep themselves within nine points of Premier League leaders Liverpool.
All the goals in an open contest at the Etihad Stadium came in the first half as the hosts responded to N’Golo Kante’s early strike with goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Riyad Mahrez.
City dominated the majority of the second-half, limiting the opportunities for Chelsea, before Sterling fired home after being set up by Ilkay Gundogan in injury time.
However, his goal was later ruled out for offside despite replays showing the former Liverpool forward may have been level.
And he has posted an amusing message on social media, claiming the technology will be the end of him.
He wrote: “Happy to improve my VAR overruled goals record today again this thing gonna kill me bro.”
The strike against the Blues isn’t the first time the England winger has had a goal chalked off by the technology.
The 24-year-old was the scorer during the infamous Champions League tie against Tottenham and also saw a goal disallowed against West Ham on the opening day of the season.
Fortunately for Pep Guardiola, the Citizens managed to hang on to secure all three points and ensure they kept pace with Liverpool.
