David Seaman believes the Arsenal squad would love to work with former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Since being sacked by Spurs last month, rumours have swirled surrounding the Argentine replicating George Graham and managing both of Spurs and the Gunners.
Although Pochettino has previously dismissed the possibility of ever managing Tottenham’s bitter rivals, the speculation continues to intensify.
And Seaman, who won two Premier League titles for the Gunners, believes getting Pochettino would be the best move for the club.
He told talkSPORT: “Yeah I’ve seen a lot of the people that have been mentioned and I was hoping someone like Patrick Vieira might get a chance of being in there.
“But it doesn’t look like that would happen.
“But the name that I keep going back to now is Poch!
“If you asked the players if they would take him now and I bet you a good 90% of them would say yes.”
Freddie Ljungberg started his spell as Arsenal interim manager with only a point at Norwich, but insisted afterwards they can ‘100 per cent’ make the top four this season.
After an entertaining 2-2 draw at Carrow Road, which extended the Gunners’ winless run in all competitions to eight matches, the north Londoners are seven points off Chelsea in fourth position in the Premier League.
Perry Groves reveals his three choices to be next Arsenal manager
The Swede has been placed in caretaker charge after Unai Emery was sacked on Friday and he saw two goals from captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ensure Arsenal battled back to earn a point against the Canaries.
It did little for their hopes of securing Champions League qualification this season, but the former midfielder and under-23s boss is optimistic.
Asked if the top four was still achievable, Ljungberg said: “Yes, 100 per cent. Like you have seen, people drop points here and there and we drop points and it is a bit of a crazy league at the moment.
“Of course I hope and think that Arsenal can get back into the top four.”
