A railway track fence erected by the Karnataka Forest Department to reduce human-animal conflict turned out to be deadly, after an elephant got stuck on one of the fences died.
The incident happened in Bharthawadi village near the Nagarahole Nation Park on Saturday morning.
According to reports, a herd of three elephants had strayed into the village on Friday night, but were chased back to the forest by villagers and Forest Officials. While the two other elephants managed to cross the fence, the tusker couldn’t.
