Talk of Diego Simeone possibly moving to the Premier League has been renewed amid claims he could soon leave Atletico Madrid.
The Argentine has been in charge of Atleti for eight years, though a poor campaign so far – with the Madrid outfit sixth in LaLiga – has raised doubts over Simeone’s long-term future.
And Spanish media outlet Marca suggest ‘divorce is on the horizon’ between Simone and Atleti with members of the club’s hierarchy starting to lose patience with the 49-year-old.

Simeone’s incredible work with Atletico – he’s guided them to a LaLiga title and two Europa League crowns, as well as two Champions League finals – has seen him linked with a host of clubs throughout his tenure, and speculation is sure to mount following rumours of his potential departure from Madrid.
Everton and Arsenal are two clubs who have previously considered the possibility of hiring Simeone, and they are both on the lookout for new head coaches.
Arsenal sacked Unai Emery last week with Freddie Ljungberg currently in charge of the Gunners on an interim basis, while the Toffees are expected to axe Marco Silva today, with David Moyes likely to be installed as caretaker manager.

Everton sounded out Simeone when they hunted for a new manager in 2017, and it would be some coup for the Merseyside outfit if they upgraded from Silva to the Argentine over the next few weeks.
According to the Mirror, Simeone was interested in the project at Goodison Park at the time, though the situation has changed with Everton dropping into the relegation zone on Wednesday.
Arsenal have also long been linked with a move for Simeone, with the Atleti boss considered one of the favourites to succeed Arsene Wenger in the Emirates dugout.
Gunners chiefs may soon make a formal move for him knowing his time in Madrid could be coming to an end.
