Following collaborations with Comme des Garçons and Vivienne Westwood,
the Cambridge Satchel Company has teamed up with eco-friendly Brazilian
footwear brand Melissa on a collection of bubblegum-scented satchels.
Created in Brazil, the Melissa x Cambridge Satchel Company collection
reworks the classic 11 inch satchel into one of Melissa’s recognisable,
playful plastic creations. The satchel is available in three colourways
holographic, black and red, all of which have been made using
bubblegum-scented melflex, and are completely waterproof.
This marks the first time The Cambridge Satchel Company has used a
material other than leather to produce its bags.
The collection launched during London Fashion Week and is available to
purchase at The Cambridge Satchel Company’s five stores and global website
as well as at Galeria Melissa London. The Melissa x Cambridge Satchel
Company 11 inch bag is priced 100 pounds.
Melissa isn’t a stranger to collaborations in the past the
riviera-inspired jelly shoes have been reworked by designers including
Vivienne Westwood, Karl Lagerfeld and Jean Paul Gaultier.
