Cornish fashion brand Seasalt has collaborated with a number of
celebrities including fashion designer Barbara Hulanicki, founder of
fashion label Biba, and Poldark actress Eleanor Tomlinson on a collection
of bags to raise funds for the Fisherman’s Mission.
The exclusive charity bags will benefit UK fishermen and their families
and will go on sale in March at all Seasalt stores and online, priced 5
pounds each, with 50 pence from every sale going to the fishermen’s
charity.
Other celebrities to take part in the initiative includes Caroline
Quentin, Fern Britton and Julia Bradbury, who have also created bags
inspired by their time in Cornwall.
Hulanicki’s design features a swirling mermaid emerging from the sea,
while Tomlinson’s design features the sun setting behind Cornish clifftops
with Poldark characters, Ross and Demelza, on a galloping horse.
Seasalt’s brand director Neil Chadwick said:“We are delighted that
Eleanor is supporting our Fishermen’s Mission bag campaign. I’m a huge fan
of Poldark and the hand-sketched drawing she gave us is so striking.
Hopefully another best-seller!”
This is the second year that Seasalt has done a charity bag campaign,
last year the initiative featured designs from Dame Judi Dench and Savannah
Miller and the bags sold out within weeks, raising 6,000 pounds for the
Fishermen’s Mission.
