Topshop has tapped Nick Knight to photograph the brand’s Topshop Unique
autumn/winter 2016 show during London Fashion Week via Instagram.
The aim is to give consumers more access to the label and Knight will
reveal his images in real-time through Topshop’s Instagram account. The
‘Undenied Access’ will feature backstage and first looks to the catwalk
show itself.
In addition, the evolution of Knight’s documentary-style creative
process will also be captured live from GoPro cameras and streamed on
Periscope and shared over Twitter.
“Fashion systems are developing so rapidly, and there are so many new
and amazing possibilities,” said Nick Knight. “Showstudio has always
championed change and innovation, so the challenge of posting real-time and
live-streaming from GoPro straight to Periscope is one we relish.
Showstudio was also founded on the principal of championing fashion film
and moving image, so we were delighted to accept TopShop’s offer to
collaborate on capturing the TopShop Unique Show in the most dynamic way
possible.”
Knights images from the show will be shared with Topshop’s Instagram
account, which currently has 6.2 million followers. The coverage will also
be shared to shoppers at the brand’s Oxford Street flagship in a dedicated
London Fashion Week area and in a 3D window installation created by set
designer Thomas Petherick.
The Topshop Unique show takes place at Tate Britain on Sunday, February
21, and will also be streamed live via Topshop.com.
