London – British high street retailer Topshop has tapped none other than US
supermodel Karlie Kloss to be the face of its Spring Summer 2016 campaign.
She returns to model for Topshop after eight years, during which she
cemented her modelling career by starring in major campaigns for Dior, Marc
Jacobs and Victoria’s Secret.
“One of my first modelling jobs was my Topshop campaign eight years ago,”
recalls Kloss in a statement, “My grandmother brought me over from St
Louis. I was young and shy and super nervous to be on set of Topshop.
Luckily I was shooting with Jourdan Dunn and we became overnight best
friends. I think she had me in stitches the whole time we were shooting.”
Launching globally on January 4, 2016, the campaign was shot in New York
City by acclaimed photographer Tyrone Lebon and personally styled by
Topshop’s Creative Director, Kate Phelan. The new campaign, which will be
featured in stores, online as well as on social media channels worldwide,
sees Kloss embrace her role as a “true role model in today’s
technology-fuelled, socially-networked world.”
“It is thrilling to have Karlie back, eight years after her first modelling
job and first Topshop campaign alongside Jourdan Dunn,” commented Kate
Phelan, Creative Director. “She is the ultimate Topshop girl and modern
super – a world-renowned fashion figure, businesswoman, entrepreneur and
philanthropist who will resonate with our global customers through her many
talents, ambitions and passions.”
