New York – Nike’s first Air Jordan release for 2016 will be a sneaker whose color
scheme is inspired by what they thought Michael Jordan would wear on the
court if he received player-exclusive colors. The new Air Jordan 4 Retro
Alternate 89 will arrive in stores on Saturday, January 2, 2016. The price
point for the shoe is 190 dollars. The shoes will also be available for
younger Air Jordan fans in grade school, preschool, and toddler sizes, with
price points at 140 dollars, 80 dollars, and 60 dollars respectively.
The shoes are based on Jordan’s tenure with the Chicago Bulls, and feature
a white tumbled leather upper and red accents. The midsole is white and red
with a white outsole. The shoe’s lining also features red. The Jumpman
Flight signature branding is black and red, while the Jumpman logo on the
back is also black, and the words Air Jordan are etched in a tag on the
other side of the tongue.
While Christmas might have just ended, sneakerheads will certainly be
whipping out their credit cards for these new kicks. According to a 2015
article from givemesport.com, Michael Jordan’s sneakers bring in an average
of 2.25 billion dollars. Shoppers tend to shop less in January, but if
these sales figures hold steady, Air Jordan fans will be out for their
sneakers this Saturday.
