New York – H&M can’t be the only one getting their hands on the designer
collaboration pie. Kohl’s has announced that they will be doing a
collaboration with Reed Krakoff to be released during April 2016. The line
will be called Reed for Kohl’s.
The collection will be available in 1116 Kohl’s stores and on kohls.com.
The price points for the lines will be between 15 dollars and 129 dollars.
This is a far more accessible price point compared to the four figure price
tags that one of Krakoff’s bags used to easily go for.
Previously, Kohl’s collaborations like Thakoon and Milly have fallen under
the DesigNation label, but this will be the first standalone collaboration.
Handbags will be the focus of the collection, as that is Krakoff’s area of
expertise. Footwear will also be a main focus, and of course there shall be
the usual apparel offerings like knits and sweaters.
In a statement, Krakoff said “When Kohl’s presented me with this great
opportunity, I couldn’t say no. Everyday luxury embodies the best of
American fashion. The ability to create great design at an incredible value
is more relevant today than ever before. Great style is all about the
unexpected, and Kohl’s is an amazing platform for this limited-edition
collection.”
This is the first time Krakoff has made major news headlines since he
announced . In August, a placeholder was put up on reedkrakoff.com
telling customers that they are “currently undergoing a thrilling
transformation.” No further news has been announced or updates made to the
site since.
A spokesperson for Reed Krakoff was not available for comment on what is
currently going on with Krakoff’s own label.
