New York – If you’ve forgotten how intertwined the worlds of fashion and art are,
Converse is here to give you a reminder with their Andy Warhol collection.
The third installment of the collection will be launched under the Converse
Chuck Taylor All Star Any Warhol Footwear and Apparel Collection. The
offerings feature two of Warhol’s pieces from the 60s, the Cow wallpaper
and flowers, along with bold imagery splattered across an array of Converse
t-shirts.
The continuing partnership between Converse and the Andy Warhol Foundation
has given us a high and low-top Chuck Taylor All Stars featuring a custom
design of Warhol’s Cow and Flowers silkscreen artwork. The high-top
features a single Cow print in bright pink against white canvas, while the
Flowers print uses poppy red against a black and white background.
Each shoe has glow-in-the-dark capabilities as an ode to Warhol’s black
light paintings. The collection launched last week January 28, and is
available in stores and at converse.com. Price points for the sneakers
range from 80 dollars to 85 dollars, with apparel at 35 dollars.
