Karl Lagerfeld has likened himself as the ‘Joan of Arc of design’ in an
interview with the BBC.
Speaking to the BBC he described himself as “the Joan of Arc of design” and
said he did not worry about the business side of the industry, nor
marketing, nor designing commercial collections, but only “works with
instinct”.
Lagerfeld designs eight collections a year for Chanel, including
ready-to-wear, couture and resort collections, in addition to being the
creative director of Italian luxury house Fendi.
Lagerfeld has been at the helm of French fashion house Chanel for over
three decades and his schedule remains relentless despite being in his 80s.
