It was previously reported that according to IMPACT Wrestling Eli Drake was done with the company via an announcement on their website.

The full statement by IMPACT Wrestling at the time was: 

“Impact Wrestling announced today that it has terminated its relationship with Shaun Ricker, known as ‘Eli Drake.’”

According to PWInsider, the company will look into a breach of contract claim against The Former IMPACT Wrestling World Champion. This move would delay Drake from signing with other wrestling promotions until it is settled.

Drake’s contract was set to expire on May 31st, but he was officially terminated on April 7th over comments he made about IMPACT Wrestling. The report also indicated that some people in IMPACT Wrestling believe that Drake was headed to AEW once his contract expired.
