When WWE announced that a handful of stars would be moving up from NXT to the main roster late last year, EC3 was among the names included in the call-ups. Several fans believe that he has a ton of potential to succeed in WWE, but after getting a shocking win over Dean Ambrose, he hasn’t appeared on Raw very often. According to WrestlingNews.co, this is because EC3 is in the “doghouse” at the moment. It is not clear why this is but the belief is that Vince McMahon is not sold on the former Impact World Champion. EC3 picked up a loss against Tyler Breeze in Main Event last week and he has continued to gain more losses in WWE’s live events over the past few days. Stay tuned for any additional updates on EC3’s alleged issues in WWE.
It has just been reported that there has been another death in the wrestling world. The official Facebook page for the Cauliflower Alley Club confirmed that former NWA competitor Roger Kirby died at the age of 79 earlier today. Kirby apparently fell and broke his hip three weeks ago. It was then discovered that he had stage four pancreatic cancer, and he later passed away due to pneumonia. Kirby worked for numerous promotions, including the WWF, but he is perhaps best known for his wor in the NWA. He was a former Central States Heavyweight Champion and Workd Junior Heavyweight Champion. Kirby joins King Kong Bundy and Dick “The Destroyer” Beyer on the unfortunate list of wrestlers who have passed away recently.
Rob Van Dam is known for his unique in-ring style and his athleticism, but few can take stiff kicks like the ones that he dishes out without suffering a few side effects. Van Dam talked about the injuries that some of his kicks have caused others over the years during an interview on Ryback’s Conversations With the Big Guy podcast. RVD admits that he was concerned that his kicks would hurt his opponents even back when he first started using them. He talked about injuring Abyss and breaking Sabu’s jaw one time while using the kicks in training. The former WWE and ECW world champion is currently semi-retired from wrestling.
