The debut episode of AEW Rampage on TNT averaged 740,000 viewers on Friday night.
That’s up 45 percent from the 509,000 viewers that Dynamite averaged when it aired in the same time slot in late May and most of June. Airing in its normal time slot, Dynamite averaged 979,000 viewers last Wednesday.
The Rampage premiere drew a 0.31 rating in the 18-49 demo. It finished third for the night on cable, trailing two NFL preseason games.
In 18-49, Rampage was up 55 percent from what Dynamite averaged in the 18-49 demo when it aired on Fridays. Last Wednesday’s Dynamite drew a 0.35 rating in the demo.
With this being the premiere episode and the show featuring three title matches, it will be hard for future editions of Rampage to match these numbers. That’s with the exception of this Friday’s “The First Dance” edition of Rampage, which is taking place at Chicago’s United Center and is expected to feature CM Punk’s AEW debut.
Rampage airs on TNT from 10-11 p.m. Eastern time.
