Antoine Griezmann was once reportedly so upset at being banned from playing FIFA 15, he rang up the French office of EA Sports to complain.
The Barcelona star was reportedly sanctioned after buying Ultimate Team coins, according to a former EA Community Manager.
Griezmann is a huge fan of video games, even celebrating in the World Cup Final with a dance from popular series ‘Fortnite’.
However, it seems as though the 28-year-old was quite the FIFA Ultimate Team addict back in the day.
According to former Community Manager Chukwuma Morah, the France international was caught out paying for Ultimate Team coins.
Known as ‘Chu Boi’, Morah stepped down shortly after FIFA 15 was released in September 2014. But he revealed on Twitter how the striker was caught out and eventually banned from playing the game online.
“True story: we once banned Griezmann’s account for coin buying in FIFA 15,” he wrote.
“Dude called the French office so upset and we gave him the players back.”
Morah, who is now an eSports host and influencer, allayed the fears of angry FIFA players by revealing Griezmann didn’t have his coins returned to him.
“For everyone getting mad: he didn’t get his coins back if it makes you feel any better,” he tweeted.
EA Sports has continued to clamp down on Ultimate Team coin sellers in recent years and takes a hard-line stance on those buying and selling coins in the popular online mode.
As well as FIFA and Fortnite, Griezmann is also an avid Football Manager player.
Back in April, he revealed he had created a game whereby he was Arsenal boss and managed to sign a wealth of talent for the Gunners.
