WWE is certainly no stranger to shortening the names of some of their performers. Fans have witnessed the likes of Big E Langston have his name shortened to Big E, Antonio Cesaro changed to Cesaro, and Alexander Rusev reduced to just Rusev over the years. Raw Superstar Apollo Crews recently fell victim to WWE’s sudden name changing as his ring name was shortened to simply “Apollo” earlier this year. However, announcers began referring to the young wrestler as Apollo Crews once again during Raw earlier this week, and his profile on WWE.com has been changed back to reflect his old ring name as well. It appears as though the Titus Worldwide member will once again have a last name going forward.
Although an appearance from Kane in WWE is rather rare nowadays, WWE has given the in-ring veteran a tremendous run over the past few months. In fact, it wasn’t too long ago that Kane was competing in pay-per-view main events and fighting for the Universal Championship. It had been previously announced that Kane would be returning to the ring once again to compete in the 50-man Royal Rumble match scheduled to take place at the Greatest Royal Rumble event on April 27th. However, WrestlingInc. just reported that WWE has pulled Kane from all of the advertising for the upcoming event. It seems likely that Kane will have to miss the show in order to concentrate on his campaign for mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.
It looked like the entire world was crashing down in front of The Miz on Raw earlier this week as it was revealed that the former Intercontinental Champion had been traded over to Smackdown, meaning that he will likely have to face his longtime rival Daniel Bryan very soon. Not even The Miztourage will be able to help him out since Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel will be staying on Raw. However, The Miz just revealed his new entourage on Smackdown. During a promo, The Miz and his wife Maryse showed off their newborn daughter, Monroe Sky Mizanin for the first time ever on WWE programming. The Miz also confirmed that he will be making his in-ring return on Smackdown next week.
The @WWEUniverse, and @WWEDanielBryan, will have to wait, because @mikethemiz will make his A-LIST return to #SDLive NEXT WEEK! pic.twitter.com/cI9ZOkcoNQ
