Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette appeared to suffer an ankle injury during the pre-season clash with Lyon on Sunday.
The Frenchman, who was named the Gunners’ Player of the Year last term, limped out of the Emirates Cup friendly after just 12 minutes.
Lacazette required treatment on his ankle in the early stages of the clash before he was replaced by Reiss Nelson as a precaution.
While the extent of the injury is not yet known, the incident sparks concerns over Lacazette’s fitness for the start of the new campaign.
Arsenal begin the new season away at Newcastle in two weeks’ time.
The Frenchman’s absence did not prevent his strike partner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opening the scoring in the 34th minute after slotting in Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s cross.
Lacazette bagged 19 goals in all competitions last seasons and the Gunners hope he will be joined in attacked by Lille star Nicolas Pepe.
Arsenal have reportedly agreed a club-record £72million deal to sign the Ivory Coast winger, who set Ligue 1 alight last season.
