Manchester United youngster Brandon Williams has been tipped to become a big player for the club.
This is according to Tony Cascarino, who believes the 19-year-old has the ‘swagger’ to truly make the grade at Old Trafford.
Williams, who plays as a left-back, has made 18 appearances for the club this season including four starts in the Premier League.
One of those starts came in the Red Devils’ last match which saw them claim a 2-0 win at Burnley, where Williams played the full 90 minutes.
This was actually Man United’s first clean sheet since September and Casc thinks Williams deserves huge credit for helping his team get that.
In his column for The Times, Cascarino said: “When I watch Brandon Williams, Manchester United’s 19-year-old left back, I see a player who has the swagger to succeed at that club.
“Wearing the United shirt is not daunting for this young man. At Turf Moor he was demanding to be given the ball and played with composure throughout.
“Williams’ performance was so assured that United did not miss Luke Shaw at full back.
“Much has been made of the displays of Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire in securing United’s first clean sheet since September but Williams deserves just as much credit.”
He also earned praise from his manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, following the win.
Solskjaer said: “He’s been excellent and just learning and growing and improving.
“I told him a few weeks ago he was going to play and he’s just been focused on tonight and he did really well.”
