BRIDGEWATER, NJ — The famed Brazilian steakhouse, Fogo de Chao Churrascaria, has unveiled plans for its newest location in the Bridgewater Commons.
The Bridgewater Township Planning Board approved the new restaurant’s application to renovate an existing portion of the mall which consists of 8,372 square feet in space. The application was approved unanimously by the Board on Tuesday night.
The majority of the Board members commented on how they are looking forward to dining at the restaurant.
“I see myself dining outdoors with my wife in the future,” said one member.
Fogo de Chao Churrascaria will be located next to the mall entrance in an open space across from Uncle Julio’s and Cheesecake Factory.
The space was previously used for general retail and is currently vacant, according to the application.

The plan does not change the existing footprint or height of the mall. The plan includes interior renovations, modification of an existing outdoor patio area for outdoor dining, façade renovations, a new vestibule with a direct exterior entrance/exit, and new signage.
No variances were being requested.
The new Bridgewater location was announced in January. An opening date has not been disclosed, however, “the location is slated to open in Q4, likely by November,” a spokeswoman with Fogo, Leila Nojouki, told Patch previously. Read More: Brazilian Steakhouse To Open In Bridgewater In 2023
