The British Fashion Council’s Hedonism platform, which celebrates and
showcases emerging British milliners, has added two new designers to its
spring/summer 2017 event, to be held during London Fashion Week in
September.
London College of Fashion graduate, Laura Apsit Livens, whose clients
include Paloma Faith, Rita Ora and Princess Beatrice, will join the lineup,
as will The Season Hats, founded by Paul Stafford and Selina Horsh, which
specialises in a range of satin folding hats.
They will sit alongside existing Headonism designers Harvy Santos and
Sophie Beale, who will all showcase in a dedicated area in the Designer
Showrooms space at Brewer Street Car Park. In addition, they will receive
mentorship and business support throughout the year.
The Headonism scheme, which is curated by milliner Stephen Jones, said:
“I am thrilled Headonism continues to evolve and engage with new members. I
welcome The Season Hats (Paul Stafford and Selina Horshi) and Laura Apsit
to our group of Merrie Milliners, which include Harvy Santos and Sophie
Beale. I look forward to their innovative and stylish Spring Summer 2017
hats to be launched at London Fashion Week.”
British Fashion Council chief executive, Caroline Rush added: “Millinery
is a real craft, and Headonism always champions technically creative and
accomplished designers. With two new designers, this season’s line-up is as
strong as ever, and I really look forward to seeing their new collections
in the Designer Showrooms this September. The carefully crafted hats on
display each season are always so captivating and elegant!”
Launched in 2009, the Headonism showcase has in the past supported
milliners including Awon Golding, Emma Yeo, Keely Hunter, Lizzie McQuade,
Noel Stewart, Piers Atkinson and William Chambers.
London Fashion Week is set to take place from September 16 to 20.
