The British Footwear Association, which represents British talent and
skills within the footwear industry, is looking for UK brands to promote in
Kazakhstan as part of a trade mission to promote European footwear by the
European Confederation of Footwear Industries.
Kazakhstan is an expanding emerging market and has been selected for the
trade mission because its economy is larger than those of all the other
Central Asian states due to its country’s vast natural resources, according
to the British Footwear Association.
In 2014, its GDP amounted to 212 billion dollars, and its consumers have
been showing an appetite for important consumer goods, last year the
country imported footwear amounting to 583 million dollars.
The British Footwear Association is looking to attend with a UK
delegation to an exhibition of European footwear and B2B meetings in
Almaty, the most populated city of the country and its economic, commercial
and cultural centre. The event will take place on April 4-5, 2016 organised
by the EU Confederation of Footwear Industry and European Profiles S.A.
Around 30 shoe companies will have the opportunity to display and
promote their products during the first European trade mission to
Kazakhstan. Footwear brands interested in registering for the event should
do so with the British Footwear Association by December 15, and spaces are
strictly limited.
The cost of the activity id covered 100 percent by the European
Commission, including the hiring of the consultant, study market, visits to
shops, renting the venue, mount decoration, interpreters, advertising and
promotion, agendas b2b. However, participating companies will be required
to cover the cost of their own travel and accommodation expenses.
