First came the headline that Burberry has started legal proceeding against
American department store giant JC Penney for alleged trademark
infringement, and copying its scarf motif.
Now it looks as if the shoe is on the other foot, as Burberry is to face a
US class action lawsuit claiming the UK fashion house used misleading price
tags at its outlet stores to mislead shoppers into believing they were
getting big bargains.
The company, which specifically manufactures some of the products for its
outlet stores, is accused of intentionally presenting false price
information on products that have never been sold in its retail stores to
mislead customers, reported Reuters.
