NORTH BABYLON, NY — A woman crashed into Party City’s North Babylon store on Thursday, Suffolk County police told Patch.
Police said a 50-year-old woman drove a 2015 Subaru through into Party City, located at 1239 Deer Park Ave. in North Babylon on Dec. 26 around 11:45 a.m.
The building was damaged and no injuries were reported, police said.

The crash took place shortly after the party supply retail chain announced its plans to close 700 stores nationwide, including 14 stores on Long Island, including its North Babylon location, in a statement on Saturday.
The company said the decision to shut down was made “following exhaustive efforts by the Company to find a path forward that would allow continued operations in an immensely challenging environment driven by inflationary pressures on costs and consumer spending, among other factors.”
In the statement, company reps said that to “accomplish an orderly wind down,” it filed Chapter 11 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas. This followed a 2023 restructuring in which it eliminated nearly $1 billion in debt.
