London-based designer Charlotte Olympia Dellal has teamed up with one of
her favourite lingerie brands, Agent Provocateur, to create a capsule
collection for the label.
Fit for any Charlotte Olympia fan, the founder of the luxury footwear brand
translated her fondness for vintage glamour into three lingerie sets,
complete with three complementing shoe styles. Naturally, the styles
incorporate signatures from both labels, such as Charlotte Olympia’s iconic
Kitty Face and Web pattern, as well as silhouettes from Agent Provocateur.
Although it is not the first time the two brands have worked together –
Charlotte Dellal created two shoe styles with the luxury lingerie brand in
2012 – it is the first time the designer dabbled at lingerie design. A
long-standing fan of the lingerie brand, Charlotte Dellal found the two
worlds of footwear and lingerie have more in common than first believed.
“They’re both technical. They have to fit, and they have to function,” said
Dellal in a joint interview with Agent Provocateur’s Creative Director
Sarah Shotton with WWD. “They’re very personal, and have the power to make
you feel a certain way.”
Shotton added that she believed that Dellal was the best person to design
this particular collection: “Charlotte has the best Agent Provocateur
collection I have ever seen. She has a better archive than we do. She was
very hands-on during the process, and has amazing taste and style — and
understands the brand’s sense of humor.”
The resulting collection includes footwear that can be worn both in the
bedroom and out as well as styles for all shapes ranging from high waisted
briefs with removable suspenders, a silk teddy and the lingerie’s brand
Trixie G-string. Other accessories from the collection include a headscarf,
silk satin slippers, a bag and sleeping mask in the shape of a cat face as
well as a set of three briefs featuring Charlotte Olympia’s Kitty Face,
nicknamed ‘ménage a trois.’
Each item bears the Charlotte Olympia Hearts Agent Provocateur logo and the
capsule collection will be packaged in a bespoke shoebox and dust bag.
Prices for the collection range from 95 pounds for the brief set to 445
pounds for the stocking boots.
The collection is set to launch on January 18, exclusively at Charlotte
Olympia and Agent Provocateur stores, as well as online, and at
Net-a-porter.com – however Charlotte Olympia will only offer shoes from the
collection, while the set of three briefs will launch in March.
