Chelsea youngster Ethan Ampadu has reportedly undergone a medical ahead of a proposed loan move to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
Ampadu has made one Premier League appearance for the Blues and manager Frank Lampard confirmed earlier this week that the midfielder would go out on loan.
The 18-year-old was linked with a move to Aston Villa but Sky in Germany claims that Ampadu will actually be joining Leipzig.
He was not included in Chelsea’s squad for their pre-season tour of Japan in anticipation of the move.
Ampadu is set to become the next name in the growing contingent of young British talent seeking first-team opportunities in the German top flight.
The likes of Jadon Sancho, Ademola Lookman, Rabbi Matondo, Reiss Nelson and Reece Oxford have all enjoyed success in the Bundesliga.
Ampadu would join Lookman, who is keen to make his loan move from Everton to Leipzig permanent.
However, Ampadu appears to still have a future with his club, having signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge in September 2018.
