London – Converse Inc has unveiled the first redesigned All Star Modern
sneaker, based on the iconic design of its most famous sneaker design. The
new All Star Modern features a new silhouette inspired by the 1920s All
Star sneaker, which has been updated using modern materials and design
ethos.
The debut Converse All Star Modern collection includes both of the footwear
brands Hi and Ox silhouettes and features circular knit uppers, a contoured
full-length Phylon outsole and a TPU-fused overlaid toecap. The resulting
look promises to deliver “lightweight comfort and clean, stylish lines.”
“The Converse All Star Modern is a perfect fusion of our sport heritage
with modern design,” said Bryan Cioffi, Vice President/Creative Director of
Converse Global Footwear. “With this collection, Converse is delivering a
comfortable, lightweight product that’s new, exciting and modern, but still
feels very Converse.”
Converse is set to include additional product drops throughout the rest of
the year, in addition to launching a limited-edition Converse All Star
Modern HTM sneaker, designed by HTM, the creative team consisting of
Hiroshi Fujiwara, Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker. The All Star Modern HTM
offers a sleek exterior, a premium and flexible goat leather upper, and
debossed All Star ankle patch and HTM logo on the heel pull tab, marking
the first footwear design collaboration for the HTM team outside of the
Nike brand.
